Friends of the Library and Matthew's Ministry
When we opened our new office at 727 N. Howe street, we were so excited!!! Not only were we able to be located next to one of our favorite restaurants, Taylor's, but we were able to move in to a lot more room! And now, we are so excited to be sharing our space with two of our favorite non-profit groups. Matthew's Ministry and Friends of the Library.
Matthew's Misinstry is a non profit organization that provides food to hungry children. It was started by a group of local moms and it has grown into a great organization. We at Southport Realty are a drop off location for donated food and supplies. Click here to visit their facebook page!
"The Friends of the Library Southport & Oak Island, NC are an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to support the Margaret & James Harper, Jr. Library in Southport and the G.V. Barbee, Sr. Library on Oak Island." Click here for more information on this organization.

Fun weekend at the 2011 Ride the Tide
This past weekend some of our agents were involved in th 2011 Ride the Tide Kayak Float! We had a blast! Worried a little about rain, we all dressed in rain gear and warm clothes. Well, no rain! A little breezy but, man it was warm! Ride the Tide was sponsored by Oak Island Parks and Rec and The Adventure Company plus Blue Water Point Marina helped out in the festivities. Kayakers gathered at Oak Island Parks and Rec and launched at the Davis Canal. We paddled our way a little over 5 miles down to the Blue Water Point Marina where we were welcomed in with cheers from friends and family. All along the canal we were able to wave and greet neighbors sitting on their docks and decks. I was thankful for the chance to paddle the Davis Canal. If you have never been back there, please go, it is very lovely and peaceful! I big thanks to Oak Island Parks and Rec, The Adventure Company, and Blue Water Point Marina... GREAT JOB! Lots of fun and a definite conformation we will be there again next year!!!
